Virtual KTU Graduation this Friday – an exceptional opportunity for international graduates and their families

On Friday, June 26 Kaunas University of Technology will hold the Graduation Ceremony for the 97th Graduating Class. For the first time in KTU history, the graduation will take place online.

113 international students from 27 countries are graduating from KTU this year. The virtual graduation provides them with an exceptional opportunity to celebrate the achievement of finishing the University together with their families around the world.

“Studying abroad gave me the possibility to get to know myself better, to grow up and to understand my needs. I was lucky to have chosen KTU, as my professors helped me develop and grow up as a professional. I believe KTU taught me discipline”, says Georgian Lali Keshelava, graduating from Medical Physics master’s this year.

She is grateful to all the people she met here, especially to her professors and classmates. At KTU, Lali made a lot of good friends from different countries, who, she believes, will stay in her life for long.

“In the beginning, I thought that Lithuanians are pretty cold people, but, thankfully, I was wrong”, says Lali with a smile.

The girl is grateful to the University for the productive study environment – Lali loved the atmosphere of studying in the Library – and for the possibilities of personal and career development provided to every student: “At KTU, you can study and enjoy the free time full of events”.

As for the virtual graduation, although Lali is sad of not being able to pose in a gown during her graduation together with classmates, she believes this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will be talked about in the future.

According to the preliminary data from the International Relations Department, the majority of this year’s international graduates are from India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Nigeria and Kazakhstan. 37 of them are being awarded bachelor’s and 76 – master’s diplomas.

The majority of the international KTU graduates have been studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Design. The most popular study programme among them was Industrial Engineering and Management. The second most popular – MSc in Vehicle Engineering.

The Virtual KTU Graduation Ceremony will take place at 1 pm on Friday, June 26. The event will be held online and the organisers promise to make it an unforgettable experience full of surprises and excitement. The organisers are encouraging all graduates to wear a gown and to celebrate the achievement together with their friends and family so as the special day stayed as a happy memory for a lifetime.

A dedicated website was created for the KTU Virtual Graduation Ceremony, and it is expected that around 30 thousand people will join the live broadcast. The hard copies of the diplomas will be ready for collection on June 29–30 at the premises of the Faculties.
