The 2021 HSBC/HKU Hong Kong Business Case Competition of this year encourages students to combine business thinking and sustainable development strategies to promote the reduction of drinking bottled water in the community, in order to achieve reduction at source. Students are required to work on a case study and prepare a slide deck within six hours. The judging panel consisted of senior executives from HSBC and other companies will raise questions after the presentation.

Four OU business students formed a team and participated in the competition. The team initiated an innovative solution to promote Hong Kong’s development towards a sustainable future. With their excellent case analysis, outstanding presentation skills, and the ability to face intense questioning from the judges, the team outperformed the nine local universities and won the championship in the competition. The championship is a strong proof of the keen business sense and exceptional competitiveness of the OUHK students. The team will soon represent Hong Kong to join the HSBC/HKU Asia Pacific Business Case Competition 2021 and compete against other universities in the Asia Pacific region.
